This is not about fixing yourself or pushing through

It is for people who understand their patterns intellectually yet still find themselves caught in anxiety, emotional overwhelm or a harsh inner critic

You may look capable on the outside yet still find yourself caught in waves of anxiety, self criticism, disassociation or emotional overwhelm. Many thoughtful, self aware people understand their patterns but notice that certain reactions keep returning. Often this happens because past experiences are not only remembered in the mind but are still held in the nervous system and body, shaping how we respond long after the original situations have passed. When the Past Lives in the Body is a free somatic guide created for sensitive, high functioning adults who want to understand why these patterns repeat and how to begin reconnecting with the body in a steadier way. Inside the guide you will explore emotional flashbacks, the inner critic and simple ways to begin developing a more embodied relationship with yourself.

What you'll learn inside the guide

All practices are simple, accessible and trauma aware, designed to meet you where you are, not where you think you should be.

Inside When the Past Lives in the Body, you will explore....

Why do some patterns keep returning?

Designed to meet you where you are

Many thoughtful and self aware people understand their emotional patterns very clearly. They know where their reactions come from and have spent years reflecting, reading or working on themselves.

Yet certain responses still appear. Waves of anxiety, shame or overwhelm. A harsh inner critic that becomes louder when something goes wrong. Moments where emotions feel bigger than the situation itself.  This often happens because past experiences are not only remembered in the mind. They are also held in the nervous system and the body.

This guide may be supportive if you tend to think deeply, care about others and hold a lot together in your life yet still find yourself caught in anxiety, emotional overwhelm or self criticism. Perhaps you understand your patterns but still feel stuck inside them. You may have explored therapy, personal development or spiritual practice and are now curious about a body based approach that works with the nervous system gently and gradually.

You do not need to diagnose yourself or label your experience. This guide simply offers language, understanding and a place to begin reconnecting with your body.

Meet Laura

Somatic wisdom for awakening, healing and aliveness

Laura Starky is the founder of the Somatic Wellness Hub with over 25 years’ experience in trauma, mental health and substance misuse. She works with adults who have often done a great deal of inner work and developed strong self-awareness, yet still find themselves caught in repeating emotional patterns or reacting in ways they wish they could change. Many of the people Laura supports are navigating experiences such as trauma and attachment patterns, nervous system sensitivity linked to ADHD or autism, recovery from alcohol or other coping strategies, or intense shifts arising through yoga, meditation or spiritual exploration. Alongside her therapy practice, Laura teaches embodied meditation and holds small group circles that support people to reconnect with the body and integrate their experiences in everyday life.
